Volunteers & Student Teaching


The Litchfield School District encourages individuals to volunteer in our schools and welcomes individuals who are interested in student teaching or interning in our district. If you are interested in volunteering or student teaching in our district, please call the school in which you would like to volunteer and make an appointment to meet with the Principal for orientation.

Please note:  if you intend to volunteer or student teach in our district, you must complete, sign and bring with you to your meeting with the principal the appropriate forms for the volunteer position you want to fill:
 

School Volunteers:  Orientation Acknowledgement Form, Confidentiality Statement, Assurances Form, Policy Acknowledgement Form, Safety Pledge.
 
Student Volunteers: Campbell High School students who are interested in volunteering in any of the district's schools must make a request with the principal of the school in which the student would like to volunteer AND with the high school principal.  Please see the Volunteer Policy (IJOC) for the complete criteria, procedures and expectations.
 
Designated Volunteers:  Orientation Acknowledgement Form, Confidentiality Statement, Assurances Form, Designated Volunteer Authorization Form, Policy Acknowledgement Form, Safety Pledge.  Please note: designated volunteers are required to complete a criminal records background check at the SAU Office (RSA 189:13-a).
 
Student Teachers:  Orientation Acknowledgement Form, Confidentiality Statement, Assurances Form, Designated Volunteer Authorization Form, Student Teacher Assignment Form, Policy Acknowledgement Form, Safety Pledge. Please note: student teachers are required by law to complete a criminal records background check at the university/college they are attending as well as at the SAU Office (RSA 189:13-a).

Please complete the orientation presentation below.  Complete the Orientation Acknowledgement form and bring it with you when you meet with the Principal.

Important Information for Volunteers

Below you will find important information regarding volunteer guidelines and procedures, as well as forms you can complete online prior to your meeting with the building Principal.  Please remember to print out the forms once you have completed them and take them with you to your appointment.

District Policies

You must read the policies below before completing the Policy Acknowledgement Form.
 
Please also read our District Safety Plan and complete the Safety Pledge. 


After you have met with the Principal of the school in which you are interested in volunteering or student teaching, you will be asked to make an appointment with the SAU Office to complete a background investigation and criminal records check.  The Principal will take a copy of your completed and signed forms and ask you to take the originals to your appointment with the SAU Office.
 
Please remember to print out all forms once you have completed and signed them and bring them with you to your appointment.   Thank you.
