Physical Education
Welcome
I would like to welcome you and your child to another exciting school year at Griffin Memorial School. Physical Education classes meet once every four days for 45 minutes. The Physical Education program will focus on movement concepts, skill development, educational games, spatial awareness, fitness, health and wellness as well as sport lead up games. Our program will also promote team building and cooperative skills, fair play, respect, having fun and positive attitude toward achieving a healthy and physically active lifestyle.
Safety
Please be sure that your child wears sneakers to physical education. Students should wear sneakers that are tightly laced or strapped. Sneakers that are laced properly can help to reduce ankle injuries. Also, please send a doctors note if you wish him/her to be excused or restricted from any physical education activity due to illness or injury. Students are also asked to wear clothing that will not interfere with their movement.
I thank you in advance for helping your child to remember and be prepared on his/her physical education days. We have tons of fun and work our bodies very hard. It is so much more enjoyable for the children if they can move comfortably.
